Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6 is by far the most expected gadget to be launched at the beginning of this new year.

Our wait is almost over now, as official sources confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be launched tomorrow, before the Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC). It is expected that they will unveil 2 new models: the Galaxy S6 and a Galaxy S6 Edge (name is not yet confirmed) the version with a curved edge. You can see in the image below an alleged teaser for the 2 upcoming Smartphone.

You will be able to follow live the unveiling of the new gadget HERE or HERE, starting with 18.30 Barcelona local time. The countdown to the Samsung live event has already started.

Here are some features that are expected from the new Samsung Galaxy S6 series:

Camera improvement: It is expected that the main camera will be 20 MP, 4992 х 3744 pixels, that will be able to grab video in 4K (2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@120fps). The front camera will be upgraded to 5 MP and will have the same function of making selfie-panorama(90°-120°), as the Note 4 has.

The battery: It is not confirmed yet how big it will be or if it will be removable or not, but one thing is sure, it will have the quick charge option, that will allow your phone to charge to 50% in only half hour.

The OS: The new Samsung Galaxy S6 will come with the newest version of Android Lollipop

The screen: Will be a 5.1″ Super AMOLED with 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD, 587ppi pixel density) and it will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4

The RAM: It will be 3 or 4 GB of RAM depending on the model

The design: It is expected to be the best looking Galaxy until now. According to the rumors it will have a lot in common with the Galaxy Alpha which in my opinion is a superb phone.

System chip: Will be an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 with 4x 1.3GHz A53 + 4 1.9GHz A57 (It seems that Samsung will NOT USE the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 system chip, based on some overheating issues that they had with the Qualcomm processor)

Storage: will start from 32GB in the basic model and it will have a microSD option, up to 128 GB

Expected dimensions: 143.3 x 70.8 x 6.9mm

Price: As all new Smartphone, the Galaxy won’t be cheap. Rumors has it that the base version will start from $199 on a two-year contract, and it will be $649 when you buy it at full retail price.

According to latest news the new Galaxy S6 will not have preinstalled all  the crappy apps that nobody ever uses, that were pushed on our phones out of the box. Instead, it will come preinstalled only with 3 apps: S Voice, S Health and Galaxy Apps. First 2 we know what they’re doing and the third one should be a shortcut to all the other apps that you want or don’t want installed on your Smartphone.  (this time you’ll have a choice). There’s also an option for third party apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, all of Google apps, and three Microsoft apps (One Drive, One Note, Skype). That’s certainly a lot less apps than we were used to have from Samsung, and there’s also the rumor that some of these apps (like WhatsApp, Facebook and maybe Microsoft apps) can also be user un-installed if you don’t want them.

Let’s wait until tomorrow and see what Samsung has prepared for us this year.
